Product Description
Madison Patio Planters are constructed of waterproof, lightweight, and durable high-density polyethylene. They are made to last a lifetime. Each Madison planter features a built-in self-watering feature to keep your plants healthy with less frequent watering. When measured one inch from the top, the planter can be filled with 56 dry quarts of potting mix. The built-in water reservoir has a 3.75-gallon capacity. Potting Media Recommendation: Add a small amount of perlite medium around the outside of the water-minder area. Finish filling the planter to the bottom of the rim with a light to medium weight potting mix. Routinely adding plant food, according to plant’s directions, will dramatically increase the health, beauty and fullness of the plants in your Madison planter. Painting Your Planter: The Madison planter is made of polyethylene with color and UV blocker infused throughout. The color will not scratch or peel off. To change or refresh the color, consult your paint professional. Drainage: There are no drainage holes in your Madison flower box planter. If you wish to use outdoors, drill drainage holes in the bottom of the planter. Turn the planter upside down and drill the holes from the bottom into the rib that runs up the center of the flower box planter. Holes should be about 3/8 inch in diameter and about six inches apart, all the way through both the inner and outer skins of the planter. To avoid disrupting the self-watering functionality, do not drill drainage holes anywhere else on the bottom of the planter other than in the depression area on the centerline of the planter.
